Many ups and downs in life...
Its how you see the part of it...

With a burst of energy within...
Maybe its time for me to venture into something new...
But at the meantime, i just want to enjoy life...
And dream of become super duper ultra rich in the meantime...
Definitely a wallet breaking end of year...

The nice little dinner for my bro's bday...
The red juicy lamb shank...

The "UFO" wine glass, which supposing stores all the aroma in it...
Top Glass... Ops i mean Top Class...

The all time favorite dessert...
I shall trying making it one day...

Note: Have been seriously abandoning my little diary for a while...

Mid Autumn...

Super back-dated entry...
Unlike all other festivals...
The mooncake festival have truly lose its identity...

No longer were the days where everyone goes to the lake or playground with glowing candle lantern in one hand and mooncake on the other admiring the full-moon but battery operated hanging toys with buzzing/weird ringing tones...

Even the mooncake now are made of durian (although its my fav), pamelo and champagne...

A top notch to push the sales i must say...

Mr Curry...

Anyhow, its just a great night for gathering and seeing the street/park come to light...

Road That Is Never Easy...

Losting touch with the world outside...
And of course my little diary here as well...
A state of isolationism...

Its like when you are in a completely new road...
The uncomfortable state where you don't know the way...

We Are Going To The Zoo... How About You...

On...

The...

Way...

And...

Throughout...

The...

Whole...

Journey...

There is just one thing on my head...

We're goin' to the zoo, zoo, zoo...
How about you, you, you???
You can come too, too, too...
We're goin' to the zoo, zoo, zoo...

I remembered singing out loud when i visited the zoo for the very 1st time when i was five...

This time round its no difference, i'm still singing the very same old song...
Have been like an annual event going to the zoo...
But it never gets bored...

Beside people watching...
I guess i also love animal watching...
Without further due...
So let the Safari adventure begin...

Hyperactive cute cum weird little lion monkey...

Guess thats how tiger turns white...
Massive soaking in water...

The lazy underwater ballerina...

No wonder its called the outback...
More like back to back...

Lonely little mousedeer....

I didn't know goats can stand...

The next thing to human...
Newborn...

Feeding time...
I love the watch they educate while doing the show...

Fastest but most stupid bird...
Do they really put their head in a hole...

Tall and graceful...
The next top model...

The old saying...
The leopard, cheetah or whatsoever doesnt change its spot...

Turtle Beast???
Lastly the one who won the race...
By a mile...

New World Order...

One of my favourite local designers are back after 2 long years of waiting...

Phunk Studio New World Exhibition...

The New World is what phunk facinate as their very own theme park where escape and education walk hand in hand, and where one is bound only by the limits of one’s imagination...

An imaginery global themed amusement park exploring the inner world of the modern society...

Theme parks are coming up everywhere as the world becomes globalised...

Alot of univeral values and themes are exported, shared and celebrated thru this process...
In a way the modern world is becoming more and more like a giant theme park...

Theme park are designed for entertainment, escape and education...
They are for people of all ages, wealth, class and culture...

Phunk Studio explores deeper into the creation of their own universe to build a globalised theme park of our inner world...

Illustrating a dysfunctional tale of an apocalyptic society where good and evil co-exist...

I love the evil side in life...
Without it, life have lost its interest and adventure...
I rather not live in a world that is just black and white...
Colour adds life in one's life...
To the New World...

Uccello...

Imagine a day stuck at a suburb part of the island...
With stars glazing from up above and tall trees surrounding every corner within sight...
Had an encounter that beats no other...
70% of pasta, 20% of curry puff lookalike and 10% of cream...

Yummylicious...

Sustainable Water...

On a hot and sunny weekday...
Where sweat is running excessively across the face and every part of the body...
When everything seems too hard to handle...

A little water here and a little cool exhibit there would do the trick...
Living in an island surrounded by water, we somehow take water too lightly...
The water we quench our thirst is never our own...

But how technology have helped us...
Now with our own barrage...
We not just only have our own "New Water" but also a flood free city and a playground for canoeing and kite flying...

And all the Newater to help me with the horrid weather...
I miss the NDP days...

Inside the educational tour...
Not the usual dull and boring tour...
Its all futuristic and dreamy...

Clowning around as usual...
I just love long weekends...

A Great Sunday Afternoon...

Up the hill on a hot sunday afternoon...

And i must say its my 1st time on top of dempsey hill on a bright day...
A whole lot different feel...
And the more different feel when you are having not chilling with your friends but your beloved family...

Was giving the frequent dim sum and hi-tea a miss...
And the idea of RED HOT CHILLI CRAB suddenly popped the mind...

All geared up with the cute little apron...

Its never complete with a dessert session at PS cafe...
Lazy sunday is not wasted with chatting and bonding with my loves...

15 Minutes...

Forget Michael Learns To Rock's 25 minutes...
15 minutes is all we need for a great dining experience...
Oh i wasn't talking about gluttoning down the crispy on the outside and tender on the inside fish and chips in one go...

Kinda digesting a sour note in the stomach as i always wanted to study here...
The whole infrastructure and layout just make your studying more conducive...
But no complains, my school days are over...
Now I'm left with the convocation and the outside world waiting...

Its hard not to think of the ferocious world...
But i will brace it...
I truly believe...
Cause every fall will make me stronger...

Glass Percussion...

Life is as fragile as a cup of glass...
Once shattered, you could never get back what you left...

But have anyone thought about how great glass can be...
Its not just a plain transparent piece of material...

A glass collaboration between glass artist Elaine Miles and composer/percussionist Eugene Ughetti changed our perspective in life or in this case glass...
Merging glass installation sound installation in exploration of a common language...

The experience is a meditative interplay between sight, sound, light and movement...
Interconnecting all these brings a new form of life...

The in between of silence brings a new sensation...
The translucent and transparent reflecting and refracting lights from all sources...
Bringing you to a new dimension...
The sounds of different tones aid to your imagination...

Life may not be all that fragile...

The Italian Job...

Life have been in sleepy mode recently, the night owl have deserted me and went back to the night safari...
Leaving me fully re-charged...
So after M.I.Aing for quite a bit...
Everything have been organised systematically...
With weddings/birthdays/activities/Whatsoever...

Beside that i have inherited a new italian hobby...
A fortnightly/monthly event...
The pasta way!!!

Being a typical singaporean, nothing can keep your eyes off a 1-for-1 promo during this crunching times...

The entrance surprises or should i say almost pull me off...
There wasn't much people in dinner time...
On my mind was " No People = Lousy Food."

But always a braveheart, i did an analyse on all the risk (as if there is one)...
Try la!!!
And surprise surprise!!!
Both the cream or tomato paste turned out really well...

Stroll...

The road of life twists and turns and no two directions are ever the same...
Yet our lessons come from the journey, not the destination...

Took on the journey from Hort park to Henderson wave and back...
Every step on the trail is an experience...
The sudden breeze brushing across...
The sound of cricket always by your side...
Stars glaring at you from up above...

Baby Shower...

Welcome Weisong...

"A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankroll smaller, home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for"

Beng was saying the experience being in the operating threatre...
And the endless night of crys and all the poo poo...
Nothing beats that...

The ION Fever...

Summary of the week...
Practically sleep my week away...
And its not by choice...
With my head at a scorching 39.5 degrees...
Body aching and enduring series of storm and heat wave...
I basically paralyzed myself in bed...
By far the worst hit sickness to date...

And talking about ION...
Claimed to have 80% new concept shop...
But what i see is the mostly the same brands, just bigger size or flagship...

The Bash...

Free booze & food...
Great company...
Not so great music...
Funny people with outrageous moves...
All summed up the night...

Chomp Chomp!!!

After enduring days with mostly fig and olives...
It feels like being unleashed from the cage...
So like a starving lion that could eat up anything on sight...

Its time for some hawker love and delicacy...
Being healthy is not an option...

Ended the hearty meal with my all-time favourite giant sugar cane hopefully to drain all the oil off...

Stand and See...

The globe seems to be rotating at ultrasonic speed...
Everyday we struggled in the office clearing tonnes of mails (Most of it are junks) and maybe at times acting busy just to avoid more work...

At the end of the day, nothing seems to be done and the next day its the same old shit again...
Trying to do what you do best...

And like all humans, we constantly moan that 24 hours is never enough...
There seems to be so many things to do...
Yet we never really strive for it...

Come to think of it, did we really make full use of the time...
Even though 40% of the time is spend sleeping...
And another 20% on dreaming (Day & Night)...

I wonder...

Somes its best to slow the pace and just enjoying people and time goes pass you...

Behold The Future...

Is there really fate in this world???
Is our future all pathed out???

I was wondering what's it like to have your future casted out...
Had my 1st tarot reading after Angela was saying the accuracy is like 80% chun...

So this may be my guideline for now...

And some random stuff:

Nippon - Disneyland Part III...

When i was in kindergarden and primary, everyday without fail i would rush home after school just to watch the cartoon...

My love for Mickey is beyond words...
So to be able to experience it now is a dream come true...

One is never too old for it...

Disney's 25...
I am not that old afterall...

Immediately after you entered...
The magical world begins, a live band granting you with the old-tunes of disney...
Time and time again the melody of songs like "A whole new world", "M.I.C.K.E.Y" keep buzzing in my ear...

Meetup wit the Mascots...
You can see from the kids face how enthusiastic they were to see them...

The enchanted lands of Fantasy and Adventure, Yesterday and Tomorrow...
It brings an eternal source of joy, laughter, inspiration, and imagination to the peoples of the world....
The magical castle that i wanna stay in...

If you guys are wondering who's my dream girl...
No, not even Megan Fox could de-throne her...
Proudly present to you my snow white...
Beat that!!!

Mickey and Friends starting off the much awaited show stopping parade...
Its the highlight...
Seeing all your favourite cartoon heroes appearing right before your very eye one at a time, with your mouth unable to shut...
Oh Mickey you so fine... You so fine...

"Its a small world afterall, its a small world afterall, in a small small world..."
Everyone was just snatching the merchandise off the shelves...
Its worst than the great singapore sale...
We can't be left out...

Before we know it...
Dust settle upon us...
Ray of sparkling light was cast...
The bling bling took centre stage...
Even with the slight drizzle, it did not dampen the mood at all...
Spectacular festival pageant of nighttime magic and imagination in thousands of sparkling lights and electrosynthomagnetic musical sounds...

With the parade coming to a close...
You know is time to bid farewell...
Leaving the wonderfull dream behind and bring you straight back to reality...
Even with the unwilling departure, i still left home with a smile...
Dreams are like stars, you may never touch them, but if you follow them they will lead you to your destiny...

Ending my Japan trip for now...
I sure wanna make a return...
Soon i hope...

Nippon Part II...

So like Harry Potter or Terminator, there's a sequel for this trip...
The visit to the oldest temple in Japan, the Asakusa Kannon temple...

For those who don't know, the Asakusa temple was built based on the story of 2 brothers who fished a statue of the goddess of mercy, out of the Sumida River, and even though they put the statue back into the river, it always returned to them...

With its history backing, the Asakusa is festive and quaint...
Everyday people comes with a belief...
With a incense on one hand, they wafted it around their bodies...
Showing an act of purification...

The Thunder Gate's the hotspot for all phototaking...
Students were not exempted...
Oh and i love the school uniform there...
Always reminding me of sailormoon...

Being at the temple itself brought a great sense of belief...
And you can see the invisible bonding that brought the people together through it...
There's a overwhelming feeling that is undescribable...
Totally different from the one in Singapore...

The Kaminari Gate is one of the gates of the Sesoji temple...

Its a entrance to the Nakamise shopping streets where you can find the most local food specialites and souvenirs...

The souvenirs: The samurai swords...
I once swored to become a ninja...
But i guess simply just watching Naruto is a easier choice...

I always admire the creativity of the Japs...
Always coming out with out of the world idea and design...
The way the end product is presented brings a value to it...

Then its all eating and shopping at the "Forgot-What-It-Is-Call" street...
The best way to truly understand the culture and people is down on the street...
Its in here when you find the warmth and flavor...

Then to the busy streets...
Immersing myself into the wonderful world...

The Pachinko mania...
Seeing balls rolling down into holes bring totally excitment...

After much walking and playing...
Its always one thing on my mind...
FOOD!!!
Crepes that are just too nice to be inserted into my stomach...

And the very one thing you must try...
Vending machine for drink???
Nah... Its the dopest ramen in Shibuya...

Simply press on all the ingredients available...
And the final product...
Dopey dope...
The meaniest Ichiran ramen...

With a fully satisfied stomach...
We headed to the highend life of the fashion nation...
Fashion is like inculcated into the lifes of the japanese...
Glazing in the district of Shibuya or Harajuku, its easy to spot people having their own identity...

Being a typical Singaporean, there is always a mad rush to grab everything that is available for the burberry blue...
I have witness the auntie scramble for the bags...
The Isetan and Taka is like a rat maze...
Its like 5 times bigger than the one we have...

"Fashion fade, style is eternal"...
This slogan is like tattoo-ed into me...
The Fashionista...

Headed to Shiba Park...
Funny incident was when i approached a group of student for the direction towards the almighty tower, they giggled among themselve and pointed "straight"...
And i was wondering what's the funny part..
After following on the direction assigned...
We stopped after some walk, all just to capture the beauty of the giant...

東京タワー...
At 333m, presenting the tallest self supported steel tower in the world...

Monkey-ed around in the "Believe It, Or Not" exhibition before going to the top of the observatory...
Funny Act 1:
Falling off a cliff...

Funny Act 2:
Escaping from being eaten...

Funny Act 3:
Jack Dawson classic remake...

And the not so real wax museum...

It was perfect timing...
By the time we finished all the exhibits, the sun have set...
At 250m high in the special observatory , no doubt everything could be define as ant-like...
But you could see the colourful vibrant of the city...

Nightz peep...

Nippon...

In my adolescence, i rememebered i was hooked to idol dramas...
Guys with frizzy untidy hair that could look so cool...
Girls that assembles cuteness beyond words that even could surpass the dog you keep...

Everyone was following the craze and i was not exempted...
J pop world rocked the 90s of our lifes...

So here i was...
Finally making one of my teenage dream come true even though its that long now...
The J-pop coulture that got me going ga-ga over with...
My first bullet train ride...

Like it is, all i could remember i was sitting down admiring the greenary for awhile and with a turn of my head i have reached the next stop...

Everything is so fast-paced...
To me, working in Japan would be like a step closer to hell...
Everyday without fail, you will see people rushing or should i put it this way - running to their work...

Even at 11+pm you will still see people still in their office wear...
And the moment they get a seat on the train, they are like being hypnotise and "coma-ed"...

Start of the journey that never gets tired...

With synchronise and colourful beams...
The ferris wheel that drizzle in the night...
Way nicer than our flyers...
For the record, i might just be the last to board the flyers...

Shrines and temples are like what 7-11 store is to us...
Yeah i know i am exaggerating...
But everywhere you turn there are bound to have one within sight...
Indeed, one of the true values of the jap is their religious belief...

One of the nicest i visited...
Situated at the surburb part of busy tokyo...
Its like a totally different country...
Linked with a long bridge...
My mind was immersed into a state of peace...

Everything was so peaceful and quiet...
All i could hear were my own footstep, pigeon cooing away and the sound of the ocean hitting the shore...

So i drank the "holy water" for good health...
Then the praying sequence...
First up, bow 90º then throwing 5 yen coins(which signifies good luck) into the wooden box....
Then ring the bell and clap 2 times...
After which you can make your wish and pray to the spirit of the shrine... Finish your prayer by bowing again...
Praying hard for my wishes...
Now i see things from a different perspective...

Then to the market...
A fish one to be more exact...
Its the craziest place for sashimi lovers...

The Japs are true lovers of seafood...
And you cant argue with that given the fact that they are surrounded by sea...
A taste of the freshest of fresh...
Thot not a true die hard sashimi lover...
No one could resist the way how the salmon just slides down your throat...
All kinds of creatures you could find in the big blue sea all gathered here...
We got ourselve pretty wet with spitting optopus and shell aiming at us every other stalls...

Snow crabs...

Udon lover...
I am always amazed by the way bento sets are being arranged and presented...
Even if i am half-fulled...
The undescribable deliciously tasting looking bentos just got my stomach rolling again...
"いただきます"...

To the top of the mountain we went...
And which mountain is that???
Of course its gonna be the legendary Mount Fuji...
But just before all that...
The egg that would let you live till 100 years...
Owakudani black egg are said to have contain all the minerals from the volcano...
One egg can postpone one's life by 7 years...
I had 1 and 1/2...
Thats just added 10 more years to my lifespan...
Nothing much special about the egg if i could recall...
Its just the shells are in black color and the yolk have a slightly different taste partly due to saking it in hot spring water...

Mr Raymond praying for longevity...
If only he could gobble down 10 eggs in 1 shot...

With the stomach filled with black eggs we continued our journey vertically...
Fuji-san...
Standing at 3776m, the tallest there is in the country...
The volcano is a landmark symbol and has been worshipped as a sacred mountain...

The highest point where we could travel...
The moment i alighted from the bus...
I felt like one of the 7 characters in snow white...
The magestic mountain stood right in front of me...
Grasping on thin cold air...
Its simply took my breath away...
Of course, its never complete unless you take a tourist-like picture to prove that you have been there...
Checked...

The owner of the mountain fuji shop which are believed to be nearing the 100 years mark...

Maybe staying in the mountain isn't a bad thing...
So i am all geared up...
Proudly presenting the next ambassador...
Yours truly...

Sayonara Fuji...
Ended with a nice hot spring bath...
Part II next...

Impossible is nothing...

Sun With Moon...

In the universe where uncertainty...
It is the tension between creativity and skepticism that has produced the stunning and unexpected findings of science...

Can the sun befriend the moon without burning her???
All queries were resolved with a nice meal...

National Education Tour...

Attended a 2 day NE course in PSB...
Surprised by the content and innovative way it was conducted...
Touched on touchy issues like the political and ties with our neighbouring countries...

Concluded the course with a trip to the URA...
Wow... I sure look forward to the development in Singapore...
Little did i know the plans are all laid...
To a better future...

Happy Daddy's Day...

A Note to my Dad:

I know being a guy, there's always this ego in us...
Never expressing our real gratitude to our parents...
And even at times taking them for granted...

So here's one maybe i should have do/said throughout my years...

Thanks dad for everything you have provided for the family...
Always giving your unconditional love and care to the family...
Naggy it time but i know its all for my own good...
Giving me room to grow yet most of the time bring me back to ground when i thought i could fly...

Now when i look, i realized how much you have aged through the lines on your face and aging body...
These marks reminded me how much you have been for the family...
Now its my honor and duty to follow your footstep...
I know its the biggest task but i know it will be easy with a benchmark there to follow...

I am very grateful indeed to have such a supportive parents for me...

Went to the Jing Restaurant for brunch...
Our very 1st try since its the 2nd joint venture from the owner of New Majestic...

Chef Yong's is like my parent's all time favorite...
And you can easily tell why, turning chinese cuisine into a contemporary art form...
Full marks not just on the food but also the presentation...
Traditional cantonese cuisine designed with a french style...

Then came the dim sums...
Given the wide variety, we were spoilt for choices...

Finish off with desserts...

Best way for some digestion and bonding with the family, strolling down fullerton on a sunday afternoon...
The usually busy district transformed into e a light-hearted place by the sea with the merlion puking  water due to the sea-sickness...
Perfect!!!

Sign-off with love...

Birdy Affair...

The memories of my visit to the bird park was turning black & white...
Luckily HSA came up with invites...

I was thrilled...
Like little kid running around with sweat covering all parts of the body and enjoying how do birds soared in the sky...

But the 1st stop towards the entrance were the cutesy and one of the unfortunate bird that cannot fly...

What they lack in the sky, they did it with grace in the icy water...
Passing through with speed and agile...

But once they hit land, they are like the most wobbling creature alive...

Dancing feet doing the tap dance...

Introducing the Happy Feets...

There goes the air-conditioner...
But lucky enough weather was on our side...

Cool and windy, we were immediately greeted by the flamboyant flamingoes...
Standing on a single leg all day long, i wonder how they tango...

I almost went berserk by the number of parrots there were...
I guess 60% of the birdpark are occupied by them...
Yet each is of their kind...

Most of them got their name from the easiest of way = their colours...

The largest man-made wonderfall...
Entrusting mother nature with birds...
It like a mini forest trail and a break from having to absorb too much of birds all at a same time...

The other captures:

The ugly duckling?!?
Its used to be my favourite bedtime story...
Forgotten how many times i have re-read the book...

The pelican with a distinctive pouch under the beak...
Swim + Fly + Walk + Glide...
What else can't they do...
Hungry parrots...
And the largest bird...
Myth? Do they really dig a hole to hide?

Finishing off with the favourite symbol of the birdpark...
The colourful-lious parrot...

Night Fest...

Being an owl, there is always a blank in the mind on what to do at night especially on weekends...
Shops are closed, movies tends to run out and some weekend you just wanna stay sober...

The night fest is always something i look forward to...
After being pretty impressed by last year's event, this year's was a bit letdown...

But nevertheless, a one to enjoy and appreciate art at the wee hours...

Okay it was not all bad, the loop of fortunes was a great kickoff to the event...
Fireworks and humans spinning in loops captured the attention with most mouth wide open...

But beside that, there wasn't much left on the outdoors...
It all turned near pitch black after that...
Left only the flea markets and stage performance to barely keep it lively...

Started exploring the museums...
Anyway, i always have this sensational nostalgic feeling...
I wish museums are open 24/7...

The minds work best in the night and its when all inspiration flows into your head...

Ended the night with a tour on the history of Singapore...
And boy i must say its one of the most interesting way to do it...
Being a history student when i was in secondary, most lessons were pretty boring and dry till the point even cactus wouldn't have survived the dryness...
This is one enriching way to engage our attention...
Getting from point to point with a "private speaker" attached to your ears...
Each point is allocated with a numbering on the floor, so you just have to key in the numbers and its like bring you into the scene...

See you next year!!!

Kung Fu Fighting...

I always wanna try Muay- Thai or even the traditional kung-fu...
But before getting all bruised up...
Taking it easy is the very 1st step...
And the only way to really take it real easy is...
Understanding it by not using your bare hands/leg but your stomach...
Hehe...
Humans always love to take the easy way out...

So here's the unusual Kung-Fu encounter...

The only way to learn, is throught the secret 武林秘籍... Or should i say the Menu...

Think its a nice concept by the boss...
Let you immerse into the swordman's era...
The whole place was what you could only see on Tv...

Almost everything was bamboo-made...
With chinese drawing and weapons of different tribe hang all over the walls...

I dreamt myself being a swordhero, enjoying a sumptuous meal...
And indeed i did, almost turned from a 孫悟空 to a 猪八戒 with the crazy amount of food...

Kick off the appetizer was the rice dumpling...
Smooth glutinous rice on the outside...
Compounded with lean minced meet on the 2nd layer..
Finish off with eye yolk to add the overall taste...
One mouth and its gone...
The "saliva fish" is their signature dish...
And no doubt about it...
Slice and slice of fish just naturally swim down your throat at incredible speed...
Then came the rest...

The only bad thing is that they all tasted a tad salty...
Now to my Kung-fu...

Hello Ho Chi Minh...

Till date, still debating what took the fiestamania crews so long...

Long for???
Our 1st oversea trip...

Cracked our brain for a bit and decided on someplace relaxing yet adventurous...

So here our journey began:
As fiestamania step foot on the crazy street of vietnam...
Its not exaggerating when you see the number of motorbikes...
You might mistaken it as any grandprix race...

Yet the surprise was that they actually give way to pedestrian...
If it was to be in Singapore, i might have been made-deaf by the horns or knock down in the process...

Hello to the bustling city:

That aside, have to say everything in HCM seems so vibrant and colourful...

Yet most lead life not many desires...
Plain hardship yet bearing little fruits...
Yet most of us are complaining how hard life is...

Being the fiestamania we are,
No journey is complete without FOODIE...

The very 1st must try but not so nice must be *drumroll* the signature spring roll...
Looks damn appetising... But...

The expression tells it all...
The mixing of lotsa vegi + peppermint just dont blend...

So decided to skip that little part and have a feast, vietnamese style...
Everything comes to senses right after that...
Stomach were filled to the throat level...
Anymore would have cause an almighty eruption...
Spicy for most, similar to thai...
But an undescribable viet taste in it...

The night tookover...
The whole street were lighted up...
Metamorphose into another form...

Turning into a gigantic pasar malam...
Flies started to settle on the light bulbs...
Pushcarts & mats of sellers were placed all over...
Where all the bargaining begans...

The city life...

Basically everyday we were hunting down the streets finding for more nice makan places from travel guides and our own judgements...

Here's the other foodies we adored...

The famous hue noodle aka pho...
Dont know how the name come about but i truly fell in love with it...
Its like the guo-tiao here but with more tender and smoothness to it...

BBQ Garden is the place all tourist goes to...
Hided at a tiny dark corner of the street...
Its like a totally different place once we entered...
All brightened up and packed with tourist from all over...
Assemble Seoul Garden during the popular days when i was a teen...

And the cafe session after exposed by the hot sun...
Plus factor: The cosy ambience and nice setting caught our attention...

Back to business...
The trip can never be complete without all the historical visits...
The Notre Dame Cathedral:
Fingerprints the French left in the city of Saigon...
There's just a Magical feeling to it with it's coloniel feel mixing with viet flair...

Central Post Office:
Situated just beside the Cathedral...
Even if you are not sending anything, you have to visit it...
Gigantic overall with a history backing...
Funny shot:

War Museum:
Basically, you can sum up viet being a "war" place...
Not a dangerous place to be, more of one that values its past...
An educational hub for the other generations...
And you can judge by that with the number of museums available...

Cu Chi Tunnel:
Just put it this way, the landmark of the viets...
Nothing can beat it...
Not even the Americans...
First off...
We learnt about how clever and crafty the viet soldiers can be...
Digging tunnels and forseeing war was hereabout...
And then living in it is a totally different story...
Tried...
And almost stucked...
Saw one caucasian almost got stucked in the process...
Tunnel and tunnel we went...
Even saw bats in it...
We even did a "Blair Witch" project of our own...
Mekong Delta:
One of the largest river in Asia...
Inter-linking between continents, its like a mini maze in water form...
Its also HCM's main source for employment...

River linking to small streams...
From there, we were brought to different farms and productions...
Every stream always bring something exciting...
From bee farm to fruits & coconut candy production...
Snake encounter...

The conical hat'ters...

Living in a world of their own, the people are contented...
Seeing the simplicity of humanhood...
We encountered and met their way of life...

Family photo to end the trip...
What's next fiestamanic???

Gold Transformer: Revenge Of The Fallen...

Catched Transformer: Revenge Of The Fallen with a twist...
My very first gold-class movie entry...
Its assemble very much like a first class business seat in SIA...
A food and drink menu catered just for it...
Service were very there throughout the entire 2hrs +...
Automatic stretchable seat with blanket...
And with one of my favourite cartoon show turned into 3D...
Jammed packed effect all round...
Accompanied by the super hot Megan Fox...
Perfect!!!
But i think Fallen did fall abit too fast...
The ending was like its trying to finish the show...
Nevertheless, still a must watch...

Philatelic Museum...

When i was a kid, i remembered vaguely i would cut off every of this stamp on the letters posted to the house...

Thereafter i would collect every single stamp i can find and using my hard-earned pocket money to buy stamps...

But after primary school, interests were diverted and subsequently my only stamp book was lost...

So it was like taking the ride from back to the future...

Going through from the past to the present of the small tiny piece of print on the right hand side of the letter...

Don't we just love to post letters...
Can't remember when was the last time i posted a letter...

Maybe in the old age period when the dinosaurs still existed...

Letterbox itself have changed so much...
Was surprised by a lampost letterbox that was about 2metres tall...
Or even a drive-though letterbox...

Over time, stamps have flourished, undergoing many changes in terms of shape, size, content, colour and even purpose..

Now, in their own little way, they carry cultura, economic and political messages between countries they travel, depicting the history, the successes, the hopes and aspirations, and the unique traditions of their country of origin...

After the history about stamps & mails...
We were intrigue to stamps from across the region...

Brought me back to the days where i was facinated by the degree of detail on everypart of the stamp...
I got the urge to steal all the stamps and paste it all over my room...

Then everything i got to know about Singapore Post...
Somehow being a postman in the past looks everybit like a boy scout...

Funny hat, greenish-brown uniform with long socks that run all the way to the knees...
The only cool part is that they ride a vespa...

Apart from being all stamp-y...
The cartoon and action hero stamps kicks in...
Everyone wants to be a Superhero...
It naturally became a playground for us...

So here is how the clowning went...

Everyday we walk through life, overlooking about the little things in it...
Its just like a stamp...
Small but mighty...
Without it, a letter is just a piece of paper with words on it...

The Ship...

This might just be Captain Jack Sparrow's territory...
Treated to a shippy experience...

Lucky there was no sea sick...

And i just remembered my cruise trip when i was a mere teen...
Can say it was a boring trip...
Maybe its because it was all about going arcade and pretty much that only...

Its like wine...
As you grow older, you enjoyed the slow pace on the deep blue sea...
I will definately give cruise another shot...
But for the meantime, this is good enough to retrace some old cruising affair with my parents...
Hay Yeah Captain!!!

One word frees us of all the weight and pain of life: That word is love...

Its the big day for Damien & LPC...
It comes as quite a big surprise...

Seeing LPC grown from a little girl to one that now having a heavy responsibility...

It has come a long way and a clear justification that we are getting old...

Marriage is a knot that ties two string together...
I got goosebumps when they were exchanging vows...

And who says its always the case of the girl getting nervous...
Damien was literally shaking during the whole process... Who doesn't...

Throughout, everyone was just snapping pics with the couple...

Guess we have cultivate the Art Of Camwhoring...

And you can indeed see a glow in them that is undescribable...

Indeed, marriage is the milestone journey of one's life...

Cracking up Art Fest...

The Art Fest ended in spectacular fashion pulling through to the heartlands...
Trying to woo the mass crowd and broaden people's perspective of the 3 simple word that is so hard to decrypt A.R.T...

It was not the usual fireworks that u see, where u embace from the moment it started and then ending in spectcular style...

Started with videology on the centre tube...
The heartlanders were already waiting impatiently for the flamboyant fireworks...
But it was the unexpected flames and little firework here and there that was brought along with the story...

Then the finale...
With the firework was right on top of us, we were tossing and turning finding the exact location of the firework...

By far the weirdest but complete firework display...
Mixing music, video, acting, fireworks, crackers, sparkers all together...

Peaberry & Pretzel...

Came across 'Peaberry & Pretzel'...
Caught my attention but my mind was brought into a state of confusion...
What's the connection between them...
I googled to really find out the answers...

Peaberry - Coffee beans that are grown alone in a single cherry that had a very concentrated aroma and flavour.

Pretzel (or bretzeln) - Traditional German baked snack twisted into a unique knot-like shape, to liken the arm position taken by monks in prayer.

They seems so distant...
But they do have a common interest...
That is......
They satisfy my sweet-tooth...

Handbook on JB...

Being a mountain tortise...

I always thought JB is just about city-square, the mall that sell tonnes of dvds in hideout clothing shops and taman garden for their seafood...
Finally beside the cheap movie tickets and food, there's more than JB that meets the eye...

Starting my tour in JB:
1st stop: Jusco...

Anyway its just a department i didn't knew existed in JB...
Typical department that holds brands like topshop, CK, etc...
Still i manage to get some great steals before heading out...

Left the over populated city to the suburb area...
Was kinda excited...
Seeing how its like to be a "NSF" in Malaysia...
And they only need to serve for 3 months and thats it...

And there are girls too...
Here's Ivan in the "cool" uniform...
Simply because i don't know how to describe it...
Haha... Kinda cute in a way...
More suitable for the navys...

The bunk:
Which look more like a chalet...

Dim sum time on a scorching hot day...
Authentic with home-cooked taste...
Somehow caught in the mind why dim sum push trolley is getting lesser and lesser...
Finally its shopping time...
I know not alot of guys out there likes shopping...
But i am a shopholic...
Was bought to 2 contemporary shops, that don't just sell clothing...
Where you guys bringing me???
That Cafe lo...
Which one?!?
Thats' Cafe la...
I was like ".........."
Finally i understood...

By far the best cafe in JB...
Maybe its my love for vintage...
Maybe its the place where you can chill, eat or shop all in one time...
Its amazing how the owner bring Art+Music+Food&Drink + Shop together...
Everything were pretty much vintage-inspirated...
It gives you this nostalgia feeling...
Laid back with its signature smoothies and jazzy tune by your eyes...
Its the perfect weekend mood...
There is also a monthly mini flea market...
I always thought people in JB doesnt know how to dress (Ops...)...
Finally found the place where the well dressed gathers...

Its almost identical to That's Cafe but Roost is divided into 3 parts...
Its like a old run-down shop on level 1 & 2 where you can eat noodles you find in the coffeeshop and drinks served in mini buckets...

Yet when you proceed in, you will find a slick little shop that sells one of a kind stuffs personnally picked by the owner...
What's more, there is a mini-hair saloon in it...
So now you can eat+chill+shop+trim your bang all in one...

Maybe i should be a boss one day and open one here in Singapore...
It might turn out to be a hit...

End of tour...
Shall visit it real soon...

Are Rabbits White???

The whole aspect of great food is no longer just that of fresh food and the best cook...
Now its all about collateral design both on and off the food...

Now i must say the gorgeous exterior/interior of White Rabbit definately deserved much 'Wow'ing...

Transformed from a church to a eatery inspired from the cartoon 'Alice in Wonderland'...
I encountered split personalities in/out of the restaurant...
Inside old Ebenezer Chapel , its a nice cosy dining setting...
Tall ceiling with large stained glass windows accompanied with dimmed lighting plus a little candle by the table...
Outdoor is a chillout by the bar or they called it the Rabbit Hole...
Be it by the swing or just admiring the greenary...
For me, its a nice place to unwhine or goof around after a splendid dinner...

This Is Not A Print!!!

New contemporary art space, 8Q sam...
No idea how they derive the name but it used to be a classroom now a showcase a diversity of artworks...

I don't know why but i just love art exhibitions...
Maybe its the smell of old painting being hang on the wall...
Or the touch of uniqueness and sometimes out of the world design that you don't get to feel in our almost routine lifes...

This is Not a Print!

Its like back to Art lesson in class...
Every room have a different identity...
I am like a kid again...
Eagerly awaiting whats installed in the next classroom...

One by one, I entered...
Each amazes me with a totally different feel...
Bring myself into the foot of the artist, i try to visualise what they are trying to convey...
Then was brought to a total new level of art...
That is.............. Sound Art...
I got no idea this truly existed...
Appreciating sound like what it is in music...
The sculptures that are made from daily recycled items...
Viola...

Nights folks...

Help Fire!!!

Another new place on the block...

They have turned church then pier, now a firestation to a neat and cosy restuarant...
Next time we might be dining at cemerty or on the flyer...
Thats how tiny Singapore utilise its spaces...

Gastrobar is born...

No air-con was require, dinner was cooling enough by the nature park...
Live band on the weekend on one side, the sound of toads & cricket chanting along on the other...
Its a nice blend if you tell me...

Doesn't assembly much of an old fire station...
Perhaps just this tap and basin left...

Mojito met my day...
Mint just suit the mood...

The firestation wings,,,
On Fire...

Sausage lover...
Tried 5 different sausages on a single plate...

Its nice to have a nice breeze across your face...
Rocking on a swing...
Stomach fulled...
Maybe staying in a firestation could be fun...

Creatures In The Sea...

Fish farm tour for a day...
The largest amount of living creature in the world...
The ocean is just that big...
I wanna go diving again...

Was pondering^ Since i can't keep a dog, might as well have a fish...
Was looking for one that have my character...

1st up:
Finding Nemo...
Crown fish...
Definately have some similarity...
Extremely active and never die spirit...
But extremely hard to keep...
Shall give it a miss, don't wanna risk killing a innocent life...

2nd up:
Polka dot Stingray...
Suave and calm...
Plus the fact that i adores polka dot...
Its retro fashion which keeps coming back...
I scare i will cook it up with samba chilli once it have grown big...

Lastly:
Rainbow Crab...
Strong willed and cool...
Its something i wish to incurred...
Plus the fact that it is so colourful...
Its so me...
Minus point: My finger might get snapped...

Maybe i should just opt for something easy...
Guppy???
Betta???

Till then...

Amici...

Was in the mood for some good ole authentic pasta...
Fascinated by the sculpture and culture after watching Angel & Demon...
Finally, the show did some justice to dan brown's book...
Urging me to visit Italy and explore the wonders...

One of the best starter and desserts i had...
But the in between could have been better...

Starter: Fleshest prawnand salad blended nicely with sweetness from the sauce with a trail of sour in it...

On yeah and the tiramisu cake literally melts in your mouth...
One of the best i have tried...
No wonder it have won some aclaimed awards for it...

KL...

Short weekend getaway that took place awhile back...
Have been on the road pretty often lately...
Spontaneous impromptu trip: Was like hey lets go KL over the weekend and there!...

Put up at Florence's makeshift crib...

Its have one of the nicest view...
Being 20+ storey high...
You have a "mini lake" right at your feet...
And when you look up in the middle of the night, its like a milky way due to the uphill lighting towards genting from afar...
I could stay up whole night stoning upon the "stars" with a cup of tea by your side...

The funny thing about the trip was that i totally missed KLCC...
It was the most unusual of places that we visited...
But of course, the usual pop in and there...
The place where everyone petal...
Hearts the longan drink that was introduced... Addictive indeed...

Cool little Cafe where you pen in your thoughts...
It was much like the school days where you hang out with your buddies...
Expressing your defiance and curious in life...
Drinking bubble tea and gossiping about girls and what to do over the weekend...
School days were fun...
See you Again Cafe...
Seriously trying to express my thoughts...

Ice skating arena smacked right in between shopping mall...
Was missing the defunctioned MOS...
So here we are, trying to revive the once reknown spot in Clark Quay...
To my horror, MOS or i shall say most clubs in KL close at 2pm...
I was just in the mood for dance, and when the alcohol kicks in, the lights were on-ed...

So the girls just went nuts in the car...
And i can tell you, i almost went deaf crazy with all the shouting and crazily high pitched glass breaking singing or more like screaming...
Crazy night for the girls, even at such early hours of the night...

TGIF...
So it was a nice long weekend indeed...
Casting all work aside and just let your brain/body have total relaxation...

I realised i have not write my entry on my japan & vietnam trip...
Shall do it real soon...

Monday, May 25, 2009

BotanPicnic...

As far as i can remember, haven been to botanic garden for as long as i can rememeber...
Dusk was settling in...
Inch perfect timing for picnic and just appreciate the beauty of greenery...
A kinda impromptu preparation:
But it was nice enough to fill the tummy...

For dessert: Strawberry blended with chocolate syrup of coz!!!

Dogs running around the field...
Birds chirping...
Butterflies transporting from flower to flower...
Picture perfect...

Chucked at a cosy site...
Acknowledging the semi-nature of life...
With magazine on one hand and food on the other...
When sun fall...
Another side of life arises...
Night is the most amazing thing you encounter...
Silent it can be...
End of the day, everything just fall back in place...
Will be there again...
Maybe longer duration this time...

Seasons Of Foodie...

Everyone tends to have a momentary mood swing once awhile...
Be it PMS or some lame excuses just to cover ourself up...

For my case, I just have a humongous stomach for foodie...
Never one to count my calories or fats...
I dig what i dig...

The reason for every season...
So is there really a preferred choice every season?
But wait... Isn't Singapore just SUNNY!!!
How i wish for sakura, aurora or even just snow falling down on orchard road...
The season for ME:

Much Ado About Nothing...

Mat placed on a moisted grass with the sun setting...
Perfect weather for an outdoor event...
The more when the lucky me got a good viewing place...
Fort Canning was like a fortress...
Fully Packed...
Everyone (minus us) were all with baskets full of food...
A stunning play excelled in its comedic aspect...
Wendy Kweh & Adrian Pang are just brilliant...
Immensing into the charactor and bring them out like it was theirs...

Treetop Adventure...

Grabbing the chance to be Superman for a day...
You don't get the chance to fly across a river that often...
Even though in this case, its just bedok reservior...

Flash back of the adventure camp back in secondary school days...

Here i come to save the day!!!

The organiser that is scared of height...
And what way to overcome it...

With a total of 4 sites...
Each having different levels of difficult...

Its as if the human ape have been revived...
We were constantly climbing and struggling to the unfamiliar surrounding...
Who say it was child play...

And the best part of all the UPs...
The DOWNs...

By the end of it...
Sweat and sands all over...

We swing, We crawl, We Jump, We Fly, We Conquered...

I Wish I Could Slow Down Time...

We are always contantly rushing...
Being a robot from 8-5 trying to finish up tonnes of work that is always piling...
Pondering... What life am i leading....
Sometimes its just nice to stop at your feet...
Slow down everything that is in process...
How i wish to have more that 24hrs a day...

The Perfection Of ImPerfection...

Everyday we walk through life...
Trying to perfect the things in it...
Can everything be perfected...
I must agree i am a victim myself...
Trying to seek the truth of perfection...
Sometimes it makes me wonder what I really want...
For now...
I rather enjoy a nice night out...
And I was hoping this was my House...
15 mins mobile massage as an appetizer???
Thats something new...
And i fell in love with my drink...
Sweetness of the lychee with a pinch of herbal mint...
Food seems delightfully lavish afterthat...
With the world in such turmoil...
It is giving out newspaper for updates...
Recession have hit us one way or another...
This time round, its the placemat...
Witty indeed...

Lets admit that there is no perfection in life...
Deal with it...

On Top Of The World...

Nothing beats a night of drinking+snacking+chit-chatting with a sight thats right in your face...
Hasn't seen anges for the longest of time...
Maybe dated way back to the school days...

Its definately a far cry from her past...
Gone was the blubbly and clumsy little ava girl i used to know..
Now all career-minded and future thinking...

Finally the turtle have turned into a swam... :P

Everything have change so much that once you slow down,
you might never able to catch up...

But according to her, i am still the same...

Danga Bay...

Was brought to an unfamiliar place that seems so familiar...
Everything stood still in an tranquil state...

Forcing you back the childhood memories...

The funfare we all adored...

And the 6 pax rally along the main street...
Causing mayhem along the way...
We just laughed at our silly self...
Don't we love to be a child all over again...

Big Prawn Small Prawn...

Was bragging about trying prawning for longest time...
Not someone who is keen to wait hours just for a catch...
Luckily, it wasn't to be...
As i was busy tussling with the prawns and learning "The Art Of Prawning" on the way...
All in all, it was a nice experience with plenty of catches along the way...

Ended all by BBQing...
Salted Ultra Flesh Prawns...

What Drunkard Do...

One thing you should NEVER do on your day is to hold yr bash in a club...
The moment you are issued a glass in your hand...
It seems like the most magical auto refillable glass ever, its even better than any 5 star hotel services...
What's best is that by the end of the 1st round, you lose track of what's what in your glass...
Be it wine, volka, tequila or champagne...
You just down everything that is handed to you...

The face tells it all...
And its was just start to begin with...

Coincidental WHITES...

Ended the night with over-limited booze in the tummy...
Action scene outside the club that should be kept just for that day...
Conclusion, Never and i really mean never host your birthday at clubs...
Tested and proven...

OSH...

Attended a 3 day course on Occupational Safety and Health...

Its about time the emphasis on the well-being of the workers is look into...
Instead of just the $$$...

The course is to somehow give you a headsup on the Safety aspect and mould you into a Auditor the future...
I somehow find Auditor making easy money out of it...
Maybe its something i should look into...

All in all was quite an enriching course, where you witness all the funny things workers do...

Nothing beats a nice tea session at Royal Copenhagen after lesson...
Being a tea-lover, i am following into my mum's footstep...

Cicada...

Not that insect with large eyes wide apart on the head and usually transparent, well-veined wings...

More of having a nice chilled out dinner deep in ulu portsdown...

Recently, have M.I.A.ed for quite awhile...
Busy with work, concerts, relays, courses or maybe just plain lazy...
Life have been good to a certain extend...
Finally i will be done with my studies, after appeals...
And when i thought the bonus will be doing my already emptied wallet some good...
My apple have rotten, and seems like my handphone is also showing sign of aging...
Before i become a hannibel:
Realise Wagyu burger seems to be all over the places now...

Sometimes i wish to be just like an insect...
Not worrying of getting lost or what's ahead...
Where do i head to now after my convo...

Better Than KFC...

Food critic is back...
Being a Total Food Junkie, everyone knows Kentucky Fried Chicken is the only Chicken Fast Food Chain in Sg...
Yet nobody could bring a fight... As a result of the success, instead of better crispy and juicy chicken, most have shruck...
Lucky for me... This is what i call a real Chicken Fast food joint...
But why are there just 2 joints here...
Maybe Popeye forgot about spinach...

Defend Of Singapore...

Educational Trip to the War Memorial, Fort Canning and Old Ford Factory...
Being a history student once, WWII still vividly remained in my head...

The museums are not for us to bear grudges, but more of a learning process so that mistakes will not be made again...
But somehow, human still don't learn from past mistakes...
We are indeed the worst creature of our form...

We induced Hatred to the world....
Why we humans just don't understand the term "Forgive & Forget"...

When will the Ben & Jerry Flagstore be opened???

Thereafter, rounds of blackjack...

Belinda was on a row...
Even James Bond would have been shivering with "777"...
And I was the banker... (-!-)'''

Dozo...

A Private Dining Haven...
Immediately, was drawn to the intimate stylish setting..
Basically its a complicated mixture of simplicity, sophistication and elegance jap-french fusion cuisine...

Once seated, you will be served with a chilled sorbet drink to quench your thirst while they introduced the variety to choose from each course catered to your liking...

I was relatively impressed by the presentation and knowledge of the food from the waiter serving us...

Kick-off:
Beef Tataki with shaved parmesan and truffle mayo mosaic...
The name itself was pretty impressive and the same goes for the food...
Everything was freshly served...
Beef lovers must try the Beef Tataki which was finely sliced...
Its like it immediately dissolved once inserted into your mouth...

Side Dish:
As your taste bug starts to rumble inside your stomach, Tempura battered soft shell crab on galette of mash and Foie gras chawanmushi topped with black truffle slice were served...

Soft shell crab tasted pretty much soft shell crab...
Luckily, the chawanmushi did manage to pull everything back with its smoothness...
Topped with Foie gras, nothing can go wrong and that little truffle adds a pinch of bitterness sweet in it...

Soup:
Followed by Crab bisque and Infusion of cepes mushroom and truffle...

Main:
So finally to the main cast of the night...
Beef tenderloin on "pu-ye" & granite hot stone and Baked Atlantic cod fillet on puff pastry...
The heat penetrating through the beef was nicely timed, coupled with the sauce and some crispy mushroom looking veg...
Soft and tender, no wonder its their signature dish...

The cod fillet tasted wonderful as well...
Not over fishy but still retain the freshness in it...
Having it slice by slice and accompanied by pastry gives you a tingling sensation...

Dessert:
Was moved to the lounge for the final course...
What better than to enjoy Mo-cha creme brulee and warm chocolate cake with ice-cream and refreshing drinks after a delightful meal in a cosy upholstered armchair with boudoir-style chandeliers and fountain by the side...

All the nice food makes your head go round and round...
Its like ecstasy...

Bon Voyage...

Mini Farewell & Birthday dinner for Glenn...
The 1st to leave us for 2 good-o years...
And there will be more leaving...

By the end of the year, few more of my 46ST will follow suit...
My buddies are leaving me all alone here...

Maybe the saying " There is greener pasture at the other side" is pretty true...
Picturing myself being in the states, would have given me a greater exposure and experience...

Good luck my friend and enjoy your trip there...
Its probably the best time with the weak US currency...

Crewroom

Teenager phase was the wildest...
A world where pubs was the hippest thing...
Smuggling in before i reach 18...

I was fascinated by the pubbing world where all the ah beng & ah lian ruled...
Now with the extinction of bengs and lians, pubbing is now more of a chill and relax playground...

It has been awhile...
My friday nights with EOians...
The usual poker game and beers(Yucks)...

Trap on an Island...

Decided to stay clear of the supposingly loving street...
Its more like a competition out there...
Every couple dressing to the occasion and glazing around to see which lucky girl is carrying the biggest bouquet of flowers....

So is love just about a big bouquet of flowers and some fancy restaurant???

Decided to live out of it...
Was kinda last min thingy plus the fact was extremely busy with presentation...
Somehow luck was on my side...
Manage to book eveything in discounted rate even on such peak period...

Everything was pretty much in tact...
Was shaking throughout the presentation...
But all went well...
Got Gold for it and off days too...

Rushed back to do some last minute packing and we are off...
45mins ferry ride isnt long at all...

1st time on Bintan!!!

The resort was pretty isolated from the outside...
Goodbye to the bustling and nosy streets...
Once footed on the resort, we were greated by a tradional dance...
There seems to be a AW to everything...

Nice Bali setting, massages by the sea, clear blue sea and of cos the PRICES...

Everything was overly commercialized...
Even more $$$ than those in SG...

There wasn't much to shop except chains of Polo Ralph Lauren...
Real or Counterfeit...
Its up to your eyes to decrypt...

Bandung Factory Outlet, the only place that sells in Rupiah...

And Pasar Oleh Oleh...
Pretty most for dining and grocery...
Thats about everything they have there...

Goofing around the serene and beautiful golf course...
One of the sports which i yet to master...

Anyway being a total noob...
We just hang around the golf course...
Watching time pass...

And of course, being in an island...
What most people did, was to have your sunglasses on with a nice magazine and a cool cocktail by your side...

But sun was not on our side as my tanning session was shortfall...
Nevertheless, a total detoxification for your mind with the nice sea breeze blowing pass your face and messing your hair up...

Capped the trip with a sumptuous feast and "live band" by your side...
A nice short getaway but maybe my first and last time there...

YCS Meetup...

Decided to write a grandmother story of my secondary school life...
I was a transferred student during my secondary school days...
Its hard especially when you have to blend into a totally new environment...
What's worst is that the class have already known each other for some time...

Despite being a introvert...
I was lucky enough to have a group of dedicated teachers and spendid classmates...
Not forgetting the terrors of the class( Yes! i was one of them after that)...
The "Terrors" were even classified as the "F4" in the school...
Maybe for all the wrong reasons...

Till date, i still have vivid memories of the days...

  • Playing badminton with our teachers after class...

  • Extra remedial classes after school...

  • Roaming around school during lesson time...

  • Drawing on tables and throwing chalks...

Introducing one of the Terrors...
Weiqiang is too shy to be proclaimed as one...

Could never miss catching up over dinner with your bestie...
As we get older, people tends to drift apart...
But for us... Its like we always think alike...

Surprise of the day...

The special guest appearance = Siming...
One thing that truly surprises me...
After all these years, she hasnt change that tiny bit...

At Jack's...

Marine Barrage...

Gone were the steamboat and BBQ...
For now, the only thing left at Marina South is the barrage...

Basically its all good and no bad for it...
Being not just a flood control but also water catchment area...
But the ultimate wonder of it, is to convert it into a relaxation place for everyone...
Then a concert venue in the future...

The moment i stepped in...
Its like i was "WOW" by the Architectural structure...

Hitting the Roof...
Green Roof to be precise...
With its large spacious field, an ideal venue for picnics and kite-flying...

And i begin goofing around...

As the night went quieter...
We went crazy...
Its one of those days when you just let loose from the busy world...
and ENJOY...

Last note of the day...
SAVE WATER...
Maybe not this way...

Ah Ting Ah...

The entry got nothing to  do with Vespa...
Spotted at the backstage of Ting Tings concert...
But on the other note, don't you wish to ride one with your love beside you instead of behind...
I was so tempted to steal it...

Back to the main...
Tings Tings was in town awhile back...
They removed the old pop and rewrite it into theirs...
Many might argued about their funky style...

But i never seen anyone which dared to make music their own like they did...
Unique Vs Weird...
Its just a thin line from it...
They make repetition sounds so fun...

Found out that the group name comes from a Chinese colleague of theirs who told her the name sounds like ""...
Way Cool...

Actually...

There can be so much "Actually" in one's life...

Many things are not meant the way it is...
And dreams you dare to have but not to take...
Who doesn't want to be Superhero...

Life isn't perfect...
But im embracing every moment of it....

太岁

Didn't never realise i was having 太岁 year...
Meaning all the bad things will fall all over me...

And it have already showing many signs of more to come...
My health have been at the worst state ever...
Injury all over...
Coughing my heart out...
Compiled with my study issues, uncertainties and $$$...

To think that i was going to have a great start to 2009...

【小娘惹】 My Version...

The【小娘惹】hype have gotten into everyone...
Though i have to confess i haven watch much of it...
But its always interesting to know the different cultures...

I always find myself intrigued with culture, lifestyle and history behind it...
This visit was way before the show started...

PERANAKAN MUSEUM...
Bet more of ya didn't know it existed...

Setting foot in the Museum...
I was like a school boy having an excursion trip...
Running around in the fascinated world that i knew little of...

Overload with pictures:
Once inside of the exhibits...
I was immediately stunned by how detailed and nifty their baskets were...

Came across this conventional ang ku kwa maker...
Its exactly the same that my aunt used to make...

The jewels department...
The Perankans love anything GOLD like nothing else...
Who doesn't love BLING BLING...

The fashion statements...
Its like a mixture of Chinese+Malays style...
Check out the scandals...
Thats where LV got his monogram inspirations from...

The dining set...
More than just a dinner...
The engraving and art on the porcelain...
Pure beauty...
Narrative story about the Baba & Nyonya...
Bringing you closer...
And all the other stuffs...

Interesting day and an enriching one indeed...
Know the culture before it disappears...

Sing Out Loud!

Fiestamania crews reunited again for one of our fav past-time...
Its our way of relaxing after a hard day's work...

This time round we tried TOPONE KTV...
Almost everything from sing lists to drinks were second rated...
But who cares...
Its the company that matters...

And we fight it out to see who pitched the highest...
Clear winner by a mile... Mr James!!!
With his unique style...
Here he demonstrate how it should be done...

Then he turned Teenage Candy Pop Idol...
Spotted with a flower on this head...
He wooed us with his cuteness and innocence...
#Puke#

Everyone LOVES James...

And if you still wanna sing somemore...
You can hone your skill online now at Karaokeparty...
Cool webbie...
If not they have Chinese songs as well...

Clear Blue Sky...
Smell of clear wind blowing across...

Sometimes all you need is standstill and admire the wonderful scene...
I truly believe picture speaks more than a thousand words...

Moo!

I adore Chinese New Year...
Not just for the excuse of getting yourself new clothes + bedsheet or whateveryoucanthinkof...
Or the massive attack on Bak Kua + Pineapple Tarts + everyotheryoucannameof...

Maybe its the hustling air that submerges me in the memories and colours of a playful childhood...
Happy memories awashed in smells and nostalgia...
I love visiting my granny's place for one...
Nothing much have changed...
Isn't it amazing how somethings can stay intact for so long...

This year's preparations were late, by normal reckoning: causing a mad rush of buying and cleaning and wiping mere days before 年除夕...

My Dustless(for now) Crib...

Routine visits to auntie's place then to granny's...
As usual the cousins went for movies thereafter...
Totally forgot to take pictures...
Was too busy MunchingTalkingGambling...
By the time i knew it...
The holidays are over!!!

Feasting On...

Eventful New Year...

My bad again for the back dating...
Its like audit...
Back tracking and amending all the old records...

Events on new year eve...
Beside the resolution & not working for that day...
I have never really anticipate the last day of the year...
All more with crowds all over...

But this year have all gone well...
Maybe its a sign of a great year ahead...
Start of the day with FCs at CSC...
My 1st visit to the clubhouse and its a great place for family outing...

Bowling session...
Nothing beats striking down a pin with your pals...

Dota was next...
I feel like a total stranger in a LAN shop...
Gone were the school days when you skip lesson just to play CS with your friends...
It definately brought back sweet memories...

Then its dinner time with 46st (Wenxing, Xuchuan & Vincent)...
Surprisingly, Suntec was like a weekday night...
So much better with just the 4 of us having nice quiet dinner...
As usual the gossip and fun talks...

Then swifted to Maybank Tower...
All for a good spot to catch the fireworks minus the crowd...
Indeed everyone from the bottom looks like ants roaming around trying to get the best firework viewing spot...

We had the luxury of being air-conned and having home-made yummy milky fruity dessert...

And here's the majestic view before the countdown...
Hello 2009!!!

When the clock strike 12...
I stoned upon this view...
Its like life, having different views...
Bird Eye view...

Ended the night at Gallery Hotel with the fiestamania crews...
And all thanks Damien again for all the prep...
Yet again its drinks drinks & more drinksss...

Funny incident of the night is when some stranger crashed into the suite and keep saying...
"F#*King New Year" "F$%King New Year"...
Evidence of a drink too much...

Thats all folks...
How i wish everyday is like that...

Monday, January 19, 2009

Jurong Point is becoming the next 'IN' place...

1 0

Despite the current economy turmoil...
With Lunar New Year approaching...
And Sales all over...
Its another great excuse to SHOP...

Exploring and covering almost all entire nation...
I got myself some neat buys...

After all this...
I shall really just camp at home and meditate...

Meetup with Yiling...
She bought me to this nice shop...
Its like a paradise of Mirrors...
Almost every single deco are Mirrors...
Just be trying your clothing and see yourself in all the mirrors, would have made you happy...

Always the little girl...
Yet its this innocence that i learnt from her...

A perfect place for narcissist...

Then its dinner-time....
Shabu Shabu...

Nothing beats having a great retail therapy plus a nice meal right after that...
